This special exhibition dives into the everyday lives of a diverse body of settlers, indigenous peoples, and enslaved Africans in and around the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam, foregrounded by the Castello Plan— a highly detailed mid 17th century map depicting the colony at its peak.
